Editing Paragraph Week 8 Monday
Read!!!!!
Final copy of writing is due this Friday.  It is not formal homework, but if you do not think it will be done by Friday then you should work on it at home.

Monday and Tuesday November 23rd and 24th

There is no formal homework this week.  We would like the students to read and work on their writing if there is internet at home.  Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving Holiday!  Oh, and the students can always read Scholastic Scope!

Revise your chosen piece by adding "In Your Head Thinking". 
Remember what I did to my Urgent Care piece?
Example:    My finger exploded once he gave me the shot. It felt so weird.
Revised sentence: Once the first shot was done, my finger felt like it was going to explode.  I don't know how I am going to get through this, I thought.  The feeling was creepy and was making sweat and shake.

I had to go to Urgent Care today during lunch.  Here is the small moment I wrote when I returned.  I am focusing on a 5 minute moment and using dialogue (like James Howe's story from today).

Write about a small moment. Use the chart we made and the map to think of something.  Take a 5 minute moment and write about it using the sights, sounds, and feelings.  Bring the moment alive by showing dialogue and power vocabulary.

We are starting a unit on Personal Narratives.  Your child will start having writing homework.  They should still be reading for 15 minutes as the writing shouldn't take longer than 15 minutes.  On nights it will take longer, we will talk to them about reading.
