Editing paragraph
Each student should have his or her parents' emails in their assignment book.
We are in the process of putting contacts in our email contact list.  Students will start emailing home when they have incomplete or missing work.  Students will be the primary communicator unless the situation is of a serious nature.

Monday 9/28/15

Read chapter 1 of KAT book (Kindness, Acceptance, and Tolerance book)
Editing Paragraph-They will be getting this homework every night Monday-Thursday.

Thursday 9/24/15

Read for 30 minutes.
Finish your name sketch.
Here is the video on kindness that sparked a great discussion.

Wednesday 9/23/15

Read for at least 30 minutes.

We have spent the last few weeks learning how our class will work together so we can learn every day.

Next week we will start our unit on Kindness and Acceptance.  The students have chosen a book to read from the following list:
Loser by Jerry Spinelli
Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli
Crash by Jerry Spinelli
Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli
Firegirl by Tony Abbott
To kick off this unit, we watched the following video.  It was very powerful for the students and sparked an awesome discussion.  The following questions were raised during our discussion:
What is kindness? Can we always be kind?  Are there different kinds of kindness?  What does kindness look and sound like?  We will attempt to answer these throughout our unit.
